Toby Reich, M.A., CCC-SLP is a New York State licensed speech and language pathologist with over 30 years of experience. As the sole practitioner of her private practice, Toby specializes in pediatric care, providing comprehensive speech and language evaluations and therapy for toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children up to 18 years old. Her expertise lies in motor speech disorders and expressive and receptive language disorders, with extensive experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Toby’s compassionate approach and rapport with children of all ages contributes to her client’s improved communication and learning outcomes.
Since 2004, Toby has been an approved provider of Early Intervention services in New York City. She is an eclectic therapist, utilizing various methods to achieve the best outcomes for her clients. As a PROMPT Level 3 trained therapist, Toby takes a multidimensional approach, incorporating physical-sensory, cognitive-linguistic, and social-emotional aspects of speech into her treatment. Recently, she has successfully addressed the needs of struggling readers using a phonics-based approach combined with speech-based cues, helping students achieve grade-level reading scores.
Toby is also an adjunct lecturer at Queens College where she has been teaching a course on
language disorders since 2016. Following earning a post graduate degree in Educational
Leadership, Toby served as Senior Curriculum Coordinator from 2012-2014, in a special education program. This experience empowered her to support and involve parents in the therapy process, ensuring that strategies were effectively implemented at home. Toby's philosophy of parent involvement is integrated into her current therapy techniques, fostering strong relationships and equipping parents with the tools to advance their child's treatment.
